Isla South Pole

I am a Polar Academy graduate and this expedition wouldn’t exist without them. The Polar Academy is a charity that aim to help children who suffer from poor mental health, bullying or who are practically ‘invisible’ in the school system. Each year The Polar Academy team go around Scottish schools and select two for the process. From here 15 kids are selected from each school so 30 in total. The Polar Academy narrows this down to a team of 20, 10 from each school. these kids are trained up mentally and physically for a year. They complete insanity training, tyre hauling, survival training and public speaking. At the end of the year they lead their own arctic expedition. One team goes to Greenland and the other goes to Finland. this completely transforms each child from living in fear to achieving whatever they want to do. At the end of each year these children talk to 3000 other children to inspire as many people as possible across the country.
